being topsy-turvy again
Sep. 23rd, 2002 08:55 pmHi folks,
Well, it's being That Sort Of Day. I was the last person to go home at work today, which means I was the person who needed to do all of the closing procedures. I've never done them before. A staffmemeber who was leaving before me told me to look in the office manager's drawer for the instructions. So I pulled out the drawer, didn't see them, pulled the drawer out further, and suddenly it fell to the floor - there weren't stops to keep it in place. Little pieces of paper clips and staples and whatnot went EVERYWHERE. Had to clean em all up, and then the drawer would not go properly into its hinges. I left her a note explaining the whole mess. Then the person who was leaving before me remembered that the instructions were in a different office manager's desk. Sigh...
I hate being the one to close out - the place is all dark and creaky, and I never know if I'll forget some crucial step - turn off the coffe pot? I don't even know where the coffee pot is; I don't drink the stuff. I did it as well as I could, and left. I got home and realized that I'd left my lunchtime tupperware of gnocchi on the office manager's desk on my way out - Oh well, I am not going back there this evening.
Sigh,
Geri
