Preia on the screen
Dec. 2nd, 2002 08:02 amThis morning as we were lying awake together we heard a curious scraping, thunking noise. "What's that?" asked Emmett. I looked over, and there was Preia, suspended halfway up the window screen (she is getting real good at that claw-over-claw climbing method). Sigh...
I, of course, was torn between wanting to read her the riot act and wanting to snap a picture. Emmett was more decisive, and pried her little feet off the screen, said NO, and locked her in the bathroom. We wouldn't care if she were up the drapery or something, but the screen she might tear, and so fall out the window - it's flimsier than I'd like - and also we don't want her damaging the screen, which is the landlady's, not ours.
As I've been typing this, she's also managed to knock over the menorah, which got her a second brief exile trip to the bathroom. Boy, eight straight days of that thing staying lit sure will be a miracle! But we love our little rambunctious brat-cat, and we wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.
