Echidna Quest update #7 - Off to the Zoo!

So after lunch yesterday, Jay and Pat drove the rental car back up to Glendale to retrieve the repaired van, while James continued to sleep off his stomach virus and I took the younger two boys back to Balboa Park. We enjoyed riding the miniature train and the carousel, and we saw lots of dinosaur bones and pretty minerals and some honkin' huge ammonites ;-) Then we returned to the hotel to watch The Simpsons and the Scooby Movie on TV.

Jay and Pat hit lots of heavy traffic on their ride back, so the kids and I drove out to meet them for a late dinner at the very 1940's Studio Diner, joined as well by their friend Nolly.

This morning James is feeling well enough to join us, and we have breakfasted, and Kevin is regaling us with echidna facts, and we're off to the zoo!

Since the echidna was a bit... inert... earlier, we phoned the childrens zoo and asked if one of the zookeepers could bring the echidna out to meet Kevin personally. Here (assuming this posts correctly) is the result :-)
