A feast of delights
Oct. 7th, 2007 02:32 amHyderabad held a wide array of treats for all of the senses, especially the eyes and tastebuds. Here are some of the edible and visible feasts that we got to sample:

This was a typical breakfast for me in Hyderabad. I enjoy this type of breakfast greatly, with its many yummy savories. The drinks include hot chai masala and sweet lime juice (note: that's juice from the sweet lime fruit, not sour lime juice that's been sweetened). The bowl to the right has a sweet rice cream porridge. On the plate, the bread is paratha, the larger bowl holds sambar soup, and the two little dishes hold chutneys that go with the upma (a fine-grained couscous dish) to the upper right of the plate. There is also cheese, a stewed tomato, and some Chinese dumplings - the hotel was catering to an international clientele.

This was a typical sari stall, and above are some closer-up views of some of the lovely fabrics. We didn't shop at this one, though -
