Me, holding a newly emptied bowl of cake batter: "Hey, guys, want to lick the pan?"
16yo: "Come on. We're not that uncivilized."
Me: "Oh, for g-d's sake - it's a figure of speech. Here are some spoons."
13yo: "Ok, I'll have some. Wait... does this have raw egg in it?"

Their mother, for the record, wasn't quite so reticent ;-)

Meanwhile, the German Chocolate cake is happily baking away, after a mishap that involved smoke coming out of the microwave due to the combination of an allegedly microwave-safe bowl and allegedly microwaveable baking chocolate.
