Going to Nova Scotia! What do you recommend seeing?

Mom and I are planning an early autumn trip to Nova Scotia, and I have uncovered a dizzying amount of awesome info on what to do in that area. I would love to hear of other specific attractions you've really liked there.

Nature and geography and culture and history are what we love. I'm thinking of a puffin-watching boat ride and a visit to Prince Edward Island, for starters... What else should I be sure and not miss?

Also, do you have any recommendations of good places to stay (B&Bs are great!) or dine (vegetarian-friendly)?
