Craigslist seems to have begun blocking the use of the term 'HIV' in ads about psychotherapy practices. I finally figured out why my practice ads weren't going through in recent weeks. Oddly, practice specialty terms like 'AIDS' or 'gay' or 'polyamory' are fine. They won't let me post a photo any more, either. I think they're conflating therapy ads with personals ads.

I wrote them a note about the HIV issue, not that they've responded to any other words; meanwhile, I've substituted the word AIDS, and my ads are being allowed through. Sigh...

Craigslist shot themselves in the foot over one incident. While it's true that there is now one less avenue for hookers to advertise their trade, it's also one less avenue for the vice squads to follow, and a pretty effective one at that...had police not been able to examine the IP records that craigslist willingly gave them, the killer would never have been caught.

Have you tried embedding the words between other characters?
i.e. *HIV*, or just *HIV.

For example you could try *HIV, *AIDS, *gay, *polyamory.

You could also put each on their own line:
*HIV
*AIDS
*Gay
*Polyamory

I think Craigslist has had so many legal issues lately that their current policy and filtering is most likely confusing at the moment. But looks like you have a work around although does that help someone searching?
