My culinary offering of the season:

12-oz bag of cranberries
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
8 oz can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup pine nuts
1 tsp each of powdered cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger

Boil water and sugar together. Add cranberries, and simmer until berries pop and the consistency is sauce-like. Stir in other ingredients and simmer 15 minutes more.

That sounds yummy. It's now in my memories. :-)

I sometimes just pour cherry liqueur over ice cream. It's particularly good with chocolate ice cream.

I use a wide variety of liquers over ice cream. Favs, in varying combinations, include Chambord, Kalua (which has some Hs in there somewhere, but I can never remember where, exactly), Bailey's, and Godiva.

I added some Bailey's to my french toast batter this morning. Mmm...

It's a real easy dish... just pouring in the ingredients and stirring, mainly.

Ditto on the yummy! Can you use any nuts if you don't like pine nuts, or are they particular to the dish?
