Normally it's a truism that when I'm not feeling well, it's my body's way of telling me to slow down. This time, when I clearly wasn't listening to Mr. Cold about that, he brought in Ms. PMS to reinforce the ranks. Okay, okay, I'm listening.

So I set about freeing up my afternoon. Cancelled one meeting, rescheduled another, and then there was just the company holiday party, which to my way of thinking was pretty darned non-essential. Not so for my uber-boss; he looked startled and then affronted when I said "I won't be at the holiday party today because I'm not feeling well." He continued to look startled and affronted until I added, "I don't want to infect my co-workers, and I'm only keeping the most important of my client appointments today." Then he grudgingly nodded his assent. He isn't widely known for his personality skills. The office manager was far more understanding, and said she hoped I feel better.

So here I am at home with 5 hours free to rest :-) Feels really good...
