cyan_blueAm feeling grateful to Emmett and Riley today...
Emmett is my primary partner; Riley is a dear old friend and sometimes-lover. Last night Riley came over to our house for dinner and gaming, which we'd planned in advance. But I ended up not being much of a hostess... first I had to spend a half-hour finishing up my session notes, which I hadn't gotten to do at work and really needed to do (if I leave them aside for more than a few hours, my memory of what happened starts to get holes in it). Then I got exceedingly drowsy - this early-darkness time of year wreaks such havoc on my phototropic sleep-wake cycle.
But the guys were great. They cooked dinner (at least I'd contributed getting the groceries), they chose a game (Fluxx variation) for us to play, and when I was too tired to play more, they played another game together, allowing me to nap on the couch nearby them. And Emmett was cool with Riley and I taking the bed, while he had an evening to himself with the kitten in the living room.
I feel really happy and grateful to both of them... that they get along well and work together well and are able to enjoy each others' company when I need to step out. Poly yay.
