Just had a 3.6 quake here in Pacifica, epicentred just a few miles south of us. A loud thunk, as if someone was dropping a fridge overhead, and a couple of smaller shudders; that was it.
Not fun. Not fun at all. Two years ago, in February, we had a 6.9. We are waiting for the big one. Much of Seattle is built on fill, which liquifies in a big quake. A 7.4 would pretty much put this area out of business. And we are long overdue.
yeah, posted about it in my own lj... the cats recovered quicker than usual, so maybe they're getting used to quakes. they never seem to behave strangely beforehand at all, as some people report, but they always panic and run for cover during. and the stuff that fell was in a pretty precarious spot anyway.
short shameful confession: the things that fell were expensive eyeshadows, so i fished them out of the toilet and set them out to dry.
