They don't say how they IDed her... I'd guess she must've had the embedded chip, as if it were a tag on a collar, the person who took her out to Cali in the first place would've known who to return her to, rather than adopting her...

I think it's particularly funny that the call about the cat came on April Fool's Day.
And yeah, she is very pretty -- she looks a lot like my Hoshi. :-)
