51. I don’t watch TV much.
52. But I am seriously contemplating buying a DVD player.
53. I love the 70’s series SOAP, especially Jody. And Corinne. And Benson. And…
54. My favorite scene in SOAP is the Step Boys dance, starring Benson, Chester, Donohue, and the Major.
55. Birds tend to like me, and nestle along my shoulders and in my curls.
56. I have made 3 batches of zesty cranberry sauce this season.
57. I grind my teeth at night. Gotta remember to wear that plastic thingy…
58. My paternal grandparents met in Back-To-The-Future-esque fashion, when Grandma was hit by a car at age 11 and Grandpa was on the scene.
59. Their years together were also ended by an auto accident, in which Grandma didn’t wear her seat belt because it felt uncomfortable around her girth.
60. Because of Grandma’s death by lack of seat belt, my father began wearing his, and this saved his life in a rollover accident.
61. I came close to dying from an asthma attack at age 12, and was saved by my father’s insomnia – he heard me having it and ran in just as I fell down and turned blue.
62. I was an extremely planned baby… my folks tried for 4 years before they had me.
63. I miss Tammad, who also died in a car accident, and Etain, who died of cancer.
64. I have flown across the country 4 times in the past ~6 months.
65. I am a jittery flyer, and I always look to the flight attendants when the plane bumps – I figure if they don’t look concerned, I don’t have to be.
66. I was rather prudish as a pre-teen.
67. I made up for lost time on that by scoring 45% on the 500-Q purity test by the time I was midway through college.
68. My Grandma went to the same high school I did. I think my other Grandma might have, too.
69. I won my elementary school spelling bee when I was 9, and came in 6th in the district bee.
70. I’d have done better than 6th if the bee coordinator hadn’t mispronounced “cohesion.”
71. I have had two root canals.
72. I like my own coconut soup better than any that I’ve had in an Indian restaurant.
73. I have very low hot-spice tolerance, but Emmett is upping the bar bit by bit.
74. I like historically-based trashy romance novels, like the Skye O’Malley series.
75. And I still sneak peeks at the Sweet Valley High teen books… blush
76. Doonesbury is my favorite mainstream cartoon series, and Dykes to Watch Out For is my favorite alternative cartoon series.
77. I have marched on DC for peace, choice, and queer rights
78. I’ve been to LGBT pride marches in NYC, DC, SF, RI, San Diego, and Albany.
79. I love taking photos of people having sex!
80. My cat’s favorite toys are tall grass, dried edamame pods, a black stuffed toy cat, her hammock, her big purple bubble that is just the right size for her to curl up and sleep in, and some bouncy balls.
81. I currently live in the city with the smallest population (~40,400) of any that I’ve lived in.
82. People tend to like the photos I take of them, even those who don’t like being photographed.
83. I own 8 vials of liquid paper. Keep forgetting I have ‘em, and buying more.
84. I like to keep as full a collection of spices as possible. Hibiscus or lavender, anyone?
85. I still have some decade-old cardamom pods.
86. I admire my partner's expressive writing skills.
87. One of my happiest purchases ever was my first filing cabinet. Got 4 now…
88. I have a dashboard toy menagerie in my car… a frog, a lizard, a hippo, some pine cones, 3 ears of Indian corn, a salamander, a fish, a drink-parasol, an amber chip, a slinky, and lots lots more.
89. The pine cones tend to fall off and bop Emmett in the knee when we drive around sharp turns.
90. I’m over a year behind in putting photos into albums.
91. I first met one of my girlfriends when I put a “happy coming out day” note on her rainbow-sticker-bedecked car in the parking lot at work.
92. Alas, she has since moved to Oregon.
93. I used to be owned by 4 ferrets.
94. I still have a 15-year-old snippet of tie-dyed ribbon from some outdoor games at the 1987 RPI high school summer program
95. I met Emmett while doing Regency Dancing at Baycon… our klutziness was a bonding experience. Am muchly grateful to the NYC friends who got me into doing Regency.
96. I like tribal drumming.
97. I am totally enchanted by didjeridoo sounds, but can’t make one to save my life.
98. I am going to one of my oldest friends’ birthday party tonight.
99. I love scenic country drives through cute picturesque towns and landscapes.
100. I am very, very, surprised that I did this whole list!
Whew…

Date: 2002-12-28 04:52 pm (UTC)Sage advice. And when I visit, if there's a new V.C. Andrews book, she feeds my need.

Date: 2002-12-28 05:31 pm (UTC)Interesting. Because my husband not only makes and sells didjeridoos, and he teaches how to play them too. He has a 95% success rate in the teaching aspect.
Let me know if you're interested, we can probably work something out.
