Outdoors

Had a good day today. Visited [livejournal.com profile] riley37, and we took a walk to Golden Gate Park and sat under some trees in a meadow full of grass and tiny daisies.

Then I came home to spend quality time with the cats. Snuggled Branwen and walked Preia - yeah, on a leash outside and everything. She's really been letting us know that she wants to go outside of the apartment lately, and if she's on a leash and being supervised then I'm ok with it. The great outdoors still spooks her a little - she considers the hallway her territory and the stairwell her next envelope to push, but outdoors is a bit further than she was bargaining for. But once she settles down, she really does take to it. She had fun exploring under some bushes and sniffing at many things, and she wasn't quite ready to leave when I decided to take her back in. I think she is really going to come to like this.

Work went well, and now I'm back home and vegging for the night. I'm enjoying fielding "am I on the right track?" questions from people who are on the hunt to decode and find my newest cache - about 4 folks have asked me about it, 3 of whom have deciphered the correct coordinates. (So, [livejournal.com profile] buckyd and [livejournal.com profile] walruz, you have a bit of competition now!) It's pretty well hidden.

[livejournal.com profile] thatanikagirl has written a childrens book of stories that correspond to each of the major pagan holidays. She says, "I wrote it because of there weren't any children's books that speak from within pagan traditions. It reflects activist and queer inclusive sub-cultures."

The book is called Aisha's Moonlit Walk: Stories and Celebrations for the Pagan Year. It can be ordered directly from that link, or you can request that your local bookstore order it for you (thus giving them the message that there's a consumer base for such books).

Feel free to the pass word along...
