Preia's at the vet...
Jan. 17th, 2003 08:35 amSo we dropped our little darling off just a bit ago. The veterinary assistant is real nice... she let us bring Preia in to the cage area and stay to pet her a while, and I asked her if she'd take Preia out and pet her while she was there, and she said yes. She admired Preia a lot, especially since Preia looks a lot like her own cat - grey with half-white face markings, and feathery tufts of fur between the toes.
We left one of Preia's stuffed animals there with her, to keep her company. One of the other vetfolks saw me come in holding the stuffed cat, and didn't see Emmett holding Preia, and she had a moment of "Okay, someone's bringing a stuffed toy cat in for us to examine, I'm just going to take this in stride now..."
Preia wasn't happy at all about being left there - she even *hissed* at Emmett when he tried to stop her from getting out of the cage - I don't remember the last time she hissed! But I think she will be okay there - the place has a good energy about it, especially that one veterinary assistant.
There were lots of other sweet cats there, who I tried to pet through their cage bars. Especially this one pair of slender boykittens, one of whom batted my face gently. I wanted to take them both home along with Preia!
The surgery will be at around 10am PST, and then we can call at 2:30 to see how Preia's doing and when we can bring her home. So beam good healing energy her way!

Date: 2003-01-17 01:31 pm (UTC)I am sure Preia will be good after it. It is really better that an animal is spayed. It helps them avoid going into heat which can really cause them pain.
I am sure she will be so thrilled to see you tomorrow that the hiss will be a distant memory.
