So Emmett's off with a sweetie, and I'm home myself tonight. I contemplated going to see a friend, but decided to just enjoy the quiet time to myself. I cooked a nice hodge-podge meal of some fun tastes and textures - boiled edemame (the Japanese green firm soybean pods), cheese bread, cran-grape juice, and the teensiest nibbles of a smidgen of very strong stinky Vecheron cheese that Emmett is saving for one of his awesome fondues. That stuff is *Strong.* I'm enjoying it over Livejournal and Craigslist.

Today was mostly a good one. I updated my auxiliary brain (read: weekly to-do list) at work today, which does tons for my inner tranquility. This is because I get to sort the entire long jumble of 73 tasks into "do today," "do this week," and "blow off indefinitely." And a Geri who only has a handful of tasks on her plate, not dozens upon dozens, is a much happier Geri.

I did all but one of the "must happen today" tasks, and felt cheerfully efficient. My sessions and groups were good ones too. There were some minor co-worker irritations though. In general things go smoothly with my co-workers, but for some reason this week ... I don't know.

I was showing a co-worker how to do a set of legal paperwork tasks, and she made a typo that I didn't catch 'til too late, when it required a whole Procedure to undo. She immediately disclaimed all responsibility for the typo, saying that I must have read the info wrong to her. Grrr.

I decided not to get into a "whose fault is it really" tangle over such a small thing, and I did the work to correct it myself, since she obviously wasn't going to lift a finger to help. I didn't mind the extra paperwork so much as the lack of cooperativity. I had to consult our supervisor to find out how to fix it, and before he came over she whispered, "Make sure you tell him you did it, I don't want him mad at *me.*" Good grief. I told him that *we* made a mistake, and asked him for his help, and of course he wasn't angry, he just told us how to fix it.

Then she had the temerity to interrupt me to complain because I won't be available to supervise her on that task again for 2 weeks. Some nerve...

Later incident: My co-worker L came up and got huffy at me because our co-worker D suddenly decided that he wanted to use a particular room on Tuesday evenings that I all ready use for a weekly group at that time. In fact, my group has been meeting in that room at that time for a year now. L began the conversation, "What's up with D's room?" D's room? Just because D has decided he now wants to use that room at that hour does not make it his room. And why was I hearing about this from L and not from D? I explained to L that I have a longstanding group that meets regularly in that room at that time, and she flared, "Okay! Don't worry about it then!" and stormed off. I don't know what was up with that. I checked in with D later, who seemed fine about the whole situation.

But all in all it was a good day.
