feasts and friends
Sep. 28th, 2002 10:50 pmWe had a nice gaming gathering today, the first in nearly 3 months. 8 of us played Scrabble and Settlers of Catan and Cosmic Wimpout, and there was *such* food - make-your-own-Nachos, peppery mustard-green soup, moo shu veggies, pesto-sundried-tomato pasta, grapes, butterscotch brownies, fresh buttery bread, and - of course - Emmett's specialty Italian sodas. I just did a whole bunch of fridge-geometry to figure out how to stash the leftovers.
Unfortunately I got a cold during it, so I called it an early night and sent people home after the Settlers round, but a 4-hour party is a decent length. Emmett, sweetheart that he is, drove one of the guests home who lives an hour's drive away.
I'm not too surprised that I have a cold; I've been in powerhouse mode for two days straight, getting in a hefty workload so as to be able to rest in the weeks to come when I am taking time off.
New game obsession: Haxxagon, on the palm pilot. A variant on chess, go, and other games of the "advance your pieces on the board while preventing opponent from doing same" ilk. Fun.
ZZzzzzzz,
Geri
