Oct. 16th, 2002 08:56 pmEmmett and I went to visit the sweet kitten today, who we get to adopt in 2 weeks! She's gotten way more agile since the last visit. At 10 weeks she's got decent coordination, and can climb and jump onto things and pull herself claw-over-claw up the upholstery. She's active and affectionate... I fell in love all over again when she snuggled down against my shoulder and batted at my nose. Heaven!
Here's the latest pic of Preia:

Emmett is now looking wistfully at also adopting Preia's older sister Morwen, a stunning tortoise shell cat who was the only one not to get adopted from the prior litter. She *would* be good company for Preia, but I've been reluctant because Morwen just doesn't make much eye contact. She *is* shy with strangers, and cuddly with her people, so maybe she'd turn out to be a great cat once she got to know us - but I dunno. I'm going to make a trip down to see her next week and test out the allergies with her. They haven't been bad with Preia, but in that house with 9 cats, they go haywire.
Sleep now,
Geri

Date: 2002-10-21 02:26 pm (UTC)Preia is adorable! Almost makes me want a kitten, but I will stick to adult cats. And I know Calliope is happy as sole ruler of the apartment! *grin*
Given your allergies, I would strongly suggest you wait a while to see if things work out with Preia before you even consider another cat. Living with any cat is different than visiting and it seems safer to make sure that Preia doesn't set off your allergies before bringing a second home.
I can understand wanting more than one kitten. Morwen sounds beautiful and might be a great addition, but if it was meant to be, perhaps she will be there in a month or two after you have had time with Preia. Also, if you want Preia to bound more strongly to you, you should have some time with her being the only cat. Single cats bound more with the people they live with than multiple cats who have each other to keep them company.
Take care.
