So I came home from work today with the odd urge to do a ruthless closet cleaning. You know the sort - where you make peace with the fact that this incredibly pretty dress hasn't fit since 1991 and likely isn't ever going to; or that even though this shirt fits well, its logo or style just no longer fits who you are.

This time I'm letting go of a lot of clothes that were hard to let go of during prior clothing sorts, and it is feeling good; I'm really getting rid of a sizeable proportion of my wardrobe. An even more pleasant surprise is that I'm rediscovering outfits that I've now grown *into* - stuff that looked like tents when I first who-knows-why got them, but that work well with my now-larger body. So this is turning out to be a bit like a new shopping trip too. Which is good, because I've needed to refresh my wardrobe, and it is so not in the budget right now.

Am contemplating throwing a clothing swap, given the quality and number of the things I'm giving up. That would also give me the chance to meet more local folks.

Hmmm,
Geri

GAH! I *JUST* (well, last week) tossed or sent to good will a large pile of my too large for me clothes! Dang!

I'm sure I could find other things to swap, or could bring some of Reil's clothes, if you do a swap. Count me among the interested.

I've been being very inspired to do something similar; I have a ton of stuff I used to really enjoy wearing that doesn't really work for me any more (mostly t-shirts & the like) and some various things I got given when other people cleaned out their closets that are too large for me... and I could use the extra space!
