Here are some more pictures from the VanDusen Botanical Garden.

[livejournal.com profile] emmett_the_sane discovered a bit of the park that featured fields of rambling wildflowers:

Isn't swiss chard beautiful?

A lovely fresh white flower. I like how the texture of the petals is visible in this photo.

I like the silhouettes of those long dangling seed pods, with the clouds behind them.

Those green and red leaves are so striking...

In the park was a small green pagoda, and this is one corner of it. I like the painting detail.

This bit of pink loveliness is actually from a single flower cluster... the bush had several of these flower-puffs on it.

That one is not from the VanDusen Gardens... it's from a little park in Whistler. I like those little fluff-seeds, ready to be borne along by winds.

And I like the lichen-green color and the geometry of this plant.

Still more to come...

I'm not sure I could chose a favorite if I tried. These are great! What a wonderful time you must have had!

Thank you! It's a beautiful park... and we only even got to see half of it! It's enormous.

Oh my God, I want a camera EXACTLY like yours.
These are totally awesome! What kind of camera do you have and how much did it cost?

Thank you! Don't know the cost, since it was a gift, but the camera is an Olympus digital camera, D-460 ZOOM. Part of what helps me to take good photos with it is that I can view how my photo will look through the digital screen both before and after I snap it. So I can aim the shot better, and I can also know if I need to take another one, if the first was blurry. I want to get an even stronger zoom lens one day though, when I have more $.

I think you need to check [livejournal.com profile] apel's userinfo for photography communities that focus on color. :)
