Dinner Chez Front Seat
Aug. 20th, 2002 03:42 amIt's 4am and I'm pleasantly tired, but I wanted to recount one happening of the day...
I phoned Emmett during my dinner break at work, and he suggested that he come down the hill to the shopping center and meet me there to share our dinner together. So we each got our food, and I stepped outside and sat with him in the front seat of his car in the parking lot. We enjoyed our meals lots... I got a lasagne-in-a-box and a peach, and he got a good Italian veggie sandwich (complete with the requisite California avocado alongside the garlic jack, roasted bells, and pepperoncini), some good grape soda, and a sweet little peach-shaped ball of marzipan. We sat and nibbled the food together, and it felt lovely and romantic. I was quite cheerful when I returnd to work. So was he; he returned to the Italian deli and got 2 more balls of marzipan :-) Emmett's found a treat...
Work was quiet - xeroxed lots of worksheets, saw 2 of my own clients, and ran a group for another counselor who was on vacation. This group was on anger management, and it was a fun group - I think that the attendees liked my style of integrating personal anecdotes into the workshop material. I also arranged to pass my regular every-other-Monday night group along to another counselor, to free up more evening time for my practice. That feels good.
